In accordance with GB/T4029-2008 standards,the series products according to Archimedes principle buoyancy method.it is the new type sodium silicate modulus and density tester that has been researched and produced by Quarrz.density SG,modulus M,baume Bé can be tested accurately and quickly.
Sodium silicate is the common name for compounds with the formula Na2(SiO2)nO. A well known member of this series is sodium metasilicate, Na2SiO3. Also known as waterglass or liquid glass, these materials are available in aqueous solution and in solid form. The pure compositions are colourless or white, but commercial samples are often greenish or blue owing to the presence of iron-containing impurities. The modulus M of sodium silicate is determined by the proportioning of quartz sand and alkaline, i.e. molar ratio of SiO2 and Na2O, modulus that displays the composition of sodium silicate is one of important parameter, and is commonly between 1.5 and 3.5. The larger the modulus is, and the more difficult the solid sodium silicate solves in water. the content of water glass in water solution is indicated by density or baume.Viscosity of water glass is closely related to modulus,concentration and temperature.

Measuring Procedure
(1) Place beaker filled with sample on testing board.and deduct weight of pothhook.
(2) Make standard weight hanged on the pothpook and submerged into liquid to be tested.Density value,modulus,baume will be displayed.

Tips
1. How to do the Calibration?
(1) Turn on machine,screen displaying 0.000.press ZEROreturn zero if without showing 0.000.
(2) In 0.000status, Long-press ZEROtill shows up CAL.
(3) Which means it is entering into calibration mode.several seconds later it will automatically show 100.000along with flickering constantly.place 100g weights onto the centre of measuring bridge.the machine will do calibration automatically.when screen display ENDfirstly,then display100.000.it indicate the calibration is done.
(4) Take down the weights,the machine will return to measuring mode automatically and display 0.000.
2. How to do water temperature compensation?
Specific gravity of water would be changed along with water temperature,there is necessary to do temperature compensation in base with specific gravity 1.0000 at 4ºC of water.As for water temperature compensation coefficient,this instrument was stored of memory value for 0~49ºC.Using thermometer to get actual temperature before testing,then revise the temperature to the one shows up in thermometer.(specific gravity would differ 0.001 if the difference between water temperature is 6ºC).Default temperature of this machine is 25ºC.Temperature value and other value would be revised by long-press AKey.Here below is detail procedure.
(1) Long-press Atill screen display C25
(2) Press Ato revise numbers.Press ZEROto shift
(3) Press ENTERto confirm after revise,then get back to measuring mode.
