Application

Measure the relative tracking resistance of a solid electrical insulating material exposed to electric fields under the influence of an electric field at voltages up to 600 V.

When a voltage is applied between the electrode devices placed on the surface of the material and the electrolyte is dropped between the electrodes at regular intervals, it is possible to generate traces in this test case. The number of droplets necessary to cause material damage increases as the applied voltage decreases, and below a certain limit, no tracking occurs.

When the material is not at the highest test voltage, it can have different degrees of corrosion, and the depth of corrosion can be measured. Some materials can burn during the test.

It is applicable to the determination of the creepage index and the tracking index of creepage resistance of solid insulating materials under wet conditions, which is simple, accurate, reliable and practical.
